Day 1 -

An understanding of the basic components of a poem.

How to critique and appreciate a poem.

Examining different poems and styles of writing. 

Day 2 - 

Using writing exercises and poetic devices to create a poem.

Sharing and feedback.

Tangible ways to create a writing habit. 

Rochelle is a Spoken Word Poet based in Goa. Her poems give voice to feelings of displacement, love and loss. She has been a part of numerous literary festivals and has performed on stages across India, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Nepal. She has three spoken word albums (Road Trips to New Places, A Thin Veneer of Coping and Best Apology Face) and her solo collection of poems, When Home Is An Idea, has been widely appreciated as a conduit to talk about identity and belonging. 

Rochelle is also a trained mental health counsellor and wants to explore the many possibilities of merging poetry and counselling as tools for expression and healing.
